Hello! I am Enrique Llerena Dominguez, Senior Software Engineer and Tech Lead, currently employed at Mercedes Benz AG. This is my blog, where I share stuff about my interests, mostly Software Engineering.

I am a well-rounded, product-minded Senior Software Engineer. My communication skills and empathy enable me to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and to take the technical leadership whenever it is required, even without an official designation.

I like understanding the business context in which the software applications run, as well as the customers using such software because doing so gives me more data to make better-informed decisions, like setting priorities or making architecture decisions. For example, I have paired with the business product owner of our team to create the business model canvas of our product.

From a technical perspective, I focus mainly on backend development, but I have also skills and experience in the areas of architecture, frontend, DevOps, automated testing, and cloud computing. I have experience with agile methodologies. I enjoy learning new stuff, e.g. machine learning, and I like presenting talks in conferences, which I have done in English, German and Spanish.

Core technologies: Java, Spring, Python, Terraform, AWS, Angular, SQL.

Interest in: machine learning, software architecture, software engineering, cloud computing, automated testing, DevOps, product management, engineering management.

I fell in love with Software Engineering during the high school in 2004 and made my first paid project in 2007.

I also like football (both american and the real one ;) ). I am a native Spanish speaker, and also speak English and German fluently.
